Daniel's Tip #5: Redken Headplay 12 Pliable Working Spray and a Redken Leave-In Update

So this last tip doesn't apply to Eva. At least not in any way I can find any recorded pictures of!

For you dolls with shorter crops, this is great for spikey and funky hair, but with less extreme hold and style as our favorite SSHHUHG from the other day!

After you get out of the shower, simply spray close to the hairline all over and crunch through hair. It's a hard hold! Let dry and see what happens! And remember, it's incredibly brushable, so if you hate it, brush it out!

Gotta love forgiving products.

Also, as a PS, I did a little research, and Redken's current leave-in condition is Redken Clear Moisture Instant Polishing Prep Leave-In Cutting and Detangling Lotion. (Seriously, could product names get any longer!?!) Now I've never used it, but according to their website it goes above and beyond where the former Clear Moisture leave-in went. So give me the 411 and tell me what you think if you've used it!

Daniel's Tip #4: Redken Hairplay 12 Pliable Working Spray

How much do I LOOOOOOOOVE this Eva hairstyle... oh man!

Here's a simple "12" trick. After you've pulled your hair into a ponytail (no matter how fancy or simple it is!), take a fine toothed or a teasing comb, spray it with "12" and then comb on top of the hair. It will guide the errant fly-aways into place without looking chunky or hard!

Daniel's Tip #3: Redken Hairplay 12 Pliable Working Spray

Ever wonder how those celebs keep their hair red carpet ready in sunny, steamy LA?

After you're done styling your hair in whatever your desired look it, flip your head upside down and start spraying. Spray from 7-9 inches away (not too close!), and then liberally apply for desired hold. (More product=more hold). Remember, "12" helps to keep hair protected from humidity, so if you're in a place with a high moisture content in the air, spray a lot! If you're in Iowa in December, you are probably okay with less...

By the time you're standing upright again, you may feel a bit like a Bride of Frankenstein (this stuff has great hold!), but after the product is dried, just take your brush, brush through and go out the door. "12" is incredibly brushable and has great shine! It can only makes any style better! Trust me...

Daniel's Tip #2: Redken Hairplay 12 Pliable Working Spray

So here's a super easy, long-lasting up-do idea!

Starting with clean, fresh hair (or even day-old hair, as long as it's not too greasy or product-y), heat up a curling iron. Take chunks of hair, in 1-2 inch sections all around the head. Wrap the hair around the curling iron, hold and spray with "12" while still holding the curling iron in place!

Now, this can get scary, because sometimes you see smoke. No worries! It's the product, not your hair, on the curling iron. (And FYI: you can use multiple things to clean your heated tools, like shampoo or rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball--just make sure it's cooled enough and you don't hurt yourself!)

Anyway, so you've got these super ringlets that are holding tight all over your head! Once finished, take fingers and start to ease the curl out. Then rake fingers into a very loose pony, and simply start pinning. If you have an extra lot of hair, you may want to secure with a ponytail holder/rubber band, but otherwise, just pin until you can't pin anymore. This is also a great look for someone who has shorter hair but needs a fancy up-do! It can look like you have tons of hair! Ha ha, optical illusion!

Daniel's Tip #1: Redken Headplay 12 Pliable Working Spray

So in picking today's celeb I felt I had to pick someone who can really showcase everything this awesome hairspray has to offer...

Let's think this out:
-It's awesome hold for amazing styles, so someone who goes to the red carpet with amazing up-dos.
-it has amazing brush-able hold for those sexy wavy styles, so it's gotta be a gal who's go luscious wavy locks in that old hollywood way
-it has great humidity control, plus protection against the harsh sun, so a lady who is naturally a sun goddess (Nicole Kidman it's not...)

So today's Hair Icon is... Eva Longoria (Parker).

My first tip is to really highlight how tried and true this product is! It's a spray and go, for those days when you have a long list of things to do. Pull your hair into a pony, tie it to a loose bun, or just spray it down and brush it upside down for a little extra body, and out the door! Plus, you get that extra protection from humidity and the sun! Make sure to take it on your next va-cay!

Eva's style here is really effortless. Let the sun and your hair's natural texture do the work. And get on with your life!

Product Of The Day: Redken Headplay 12 Pliable Working Spray

I love that today I can refer to this product all day long as "12".

According to Redken's website:
"work, sculpt and define shapes with 24 hour humidity resistance, 8 hour flexible control and frizz-free shine"

And they are so right.

This pump hairspray dries super fast and actually contains a UV filter to help protect hair (which is amazingly important for all of our not-so-natural beauties out there!). It provides a brushable hold that leaves hair shiny, never flakey and also keeps the desired look in place. And like all Redken's products, it is never greasy or hard, and feels soft and sexy.

Super Hairspray? I just might be. :)

Stay tuned for secret style tips all day long.

Daniel's Tip #5, Redken Clear Moisture Moist Ends Leave-In

Just a heads up! As this is our first week of blogging, we've decided we're going to be taking Sundays off. Even fabulosity needs a break, right? So enjoy your day, drink a mimosa for me, and check back in first thing Monday morning!

Here's my final tip of the day, which is a great one to try on a late Saturday night for a lazy Sunday to follow.

Dampen hair. You can get out of the shower and towel dry hair, or you could just add a little bit of moisture with a comb or a spray bottle then apply RCMMEL-I. OR, if you have extremely dry hair, just use the Leave-In conditioner to wet the hair, you'll get the extra benefit of more treatment!

Grab a handful of bobby pins. This is not meant to be perfect, so don't even try. Grab chunks of hair. Maybe 2-3 inches or so. Twist the chunk around your fingers--but again, NOT TOO PERFECT! Too perfect or too tight will make a uniform curl, and we want a loose, haphazard curl. After you have very loosely twisted the hair (think of a piece of rope that is almost totally unraveled--barely twisted!) wrap the chunk of barely twisted hair into a little bun. Pin as needed to stay in place. Repeat as necessary. More twisty buns means more curls, less means more waves.

Now fall asleep.

Wake up in the morning, remove pins, turn your head over and shake, shake, shake gentle with your fingers. Effortlessly fabulous before even brushing your teeth. Who else could do this but you?

You are fabulous! Enjoy your Sunday!
